Traditional
Homes
Our designs of traditional homes reflect an extensive knowledge of architectural history. Our background in historic preservation has given us unique insight into the traditional home. We have restored the 1742 brick mansion of the Colonial Governor of Maryland. We have restored the summer home of Frederick Douglass, built in 1895 on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We know how and why the traditional home was designed, and the great variety of forms it has taken over the years. Shingle Style, Arts and Crafts, Colonial Georgian, Classical Revival, Spanish Mediterranean, and Tidewater Cottage are all images of the traditional home that have a place in the history of architecture, and the architecture of today.
